All Teens Make Mistakes (Even the “Good” Ones)

,In this issue:

Hi Reader,

I know that most stereotypes about teens make it sound like they are all rebellious, disrespectful and always in trouble. But I think many of us would actually say that we have "good" teens. In fact, we might even say they are pretty great.

However, we do have to remember that their brains are still developing. This means that our "good" kids can, and most likely will, do impulsive and sometimes stupid things.

This is why, as much as we want to trust them to make good decisions, or we might believe that our teens would never do xyz, we can't count on it. And while we may not need to be all up in their business all the time, we do still need to be paying attention, asking questions, having hard conversations, and checking up on them - both in their offline and online lives.

They may believe they are all grown up and no longer need us, but we know better. As parents, we're their human version of training wheels, and they are just not quite ready to ride away without them yet.

Until Next Time,

Whitney

The Five Love Languages for Parenting Teens

Mesh Shower Caddy

This was my three college kids favorite dorm shower caddy because it can hold everything. No more going back and forth because they forgot something. They simply kept it all right in here (and then placed it on a closet boot mat to drain on the floor.) The bag unfolds so you can store cosmetics, hair supplies, loofahs, tooth brushes, etc. And the best part is IT'S ON SALE NOW!
